Issei Uji Karigane

Made from the stems and leaves of shaded sencha, this vibrant karigane has a bright aroma and sweet taste. The leaves add a complexity that compliments the sweetness of the stems.

Karigane (雁金 - lit. 'Goose Gold') is a type of kukicha or stem tea, defined as being made from shaded leaves, such as shaded sencha, kabusecha, or gyokuro.

The name Issei (一声) comes from a zen saying: akisora, issei no kari (秋空一声雁) - The lone call of the goose that ushers in the autumn sky.
