The surface of the clay is left unpolished, giving it a matte finish and slightly textured feel. The cup is decorated with a thin white line of glaze that spirals around the cup and stops at the foot.
This cup is a perfect middle size for sencha or other teas. Cups of these size and shape are also called kumidashi (汲出) or senchawan (煎茶碗).
